Warm, open friendly smiles are an attractive feature that often come from having confidence in our teeth, say Drayton dentists Debbie Paramani and Vasiliki Stamatoukou from Drayton Dental Care in School Road.
Hiding your smile behind your hand or smiling with your lips tightly closed are signs that there is something about your teeth you are unhappy about. It could be that they have become stained due to the natural ageing process or from tea, coffee, red wine or smoking. Or perhaps they are crooked or you have lost a tooth and are aware of the gap. Maybe you feel your breath could be fresher?
Whatever the niggle, our dentists and hygienists can help.
Fresh breath
Bad breath is a common problem that is usually caused by the gases released by bacteria that coat the teeth and tongue and can often be a sign of advanced gum disease.
Some medical problems may be the cause of bad breath including sinusitis, bronchitis, diabetes, liver or kidney problems, and infections of the nose, throat and lungs.
However, bad breath is most often caused by a lack of good oral hygiene. Fortunately, the problem can be easily solved by the simple oral health routine of brushing our teeth for two minutes twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and visiting a dental hygienist.
We’re here to help
