We are pleased to offer our registered patients a free cosmetic consultation with one of our experienced dentists. This will allow them to understand your smile goals and discuss teeth whitening treatment with you. New enquirers should book an extended new patient examination and let us know you are interested in whitening.
If you decide that teeth whitening treatment is for you, we will take a digital impression of your teeth. We will send this to our dental laboratory, where your custom-made whitening trays will be made.
Once your trays are made and have been sent back to us, you will come to the practice to collect them. During this appointment, we will check the fit of the whitening trays, show you how to apply the gel, how much to use, and explain how long to wear it for.
We will book a review appointment to check the progress of your whitening treatment after eight weeks. This allows enough time for most patients to reach their desired shade.
Great oral health is key to a good-looking smile for the long term. That’s why we advise that you continue to attend your regular dental health reviews and hygiene appointments to ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy, clean and looking whiter for longer.

We all have stains on our teeth that naturally build up over time from the foods and drinks we consume. Habits like smoking can make this worse. Teeth whitening treatment works by removing these stains to reveal a naturally whiter, brighter smile, in the most natural way.
For our registered patients, everything starts with a free cosmetic consultation. If you’re new to Drayton Dental Care, please book an extended new patient examination first, letting us know beforehand that you are interested in teeth whitening. Whether you’re an existing or new patient, we will discuss all treatment options with you and assess the health of your teeth and gums to check your eligibility for teeth whitening treatment. If everything looks good, we will take a digital impression using our intraoral scanner – no messy impressions here! - which will be used by our dental lab to create your bespoke whitening trays.
Once your whitening trays arrive at the practice, you will come back in for an appointment, during which we will show you how to apply the gel in your whitening trays, how much to use, how long to wear the trays for and how to clean them. You can ask us any questions you may have before heading home to begin your treatment.
Teeth whitening treatment should be carried out consistently every night for two weeks. Most patients will start to see results within the first few days and will achieve their desired shade by the end of the two-week period. Some patients will find it takes a little longer for their shade to lift, or they may need to whiten for longer, this is normal. We will see you for a review appointment at this point to check your shade and advise on whether to continue whitening.
